you can easily get to the 'Gaff via our local bus system or by Taxi.

By Bus:

  • From PSU Campus and downtown State College:
The FARE-FREE Blue Loop and White Loop both have a stop about a block from the Shandygaff, and run in a circle servicing downtown State College and the Penn State Campus. The Blue Loop stop is the corner of College Avenue and Allen Street. The White Loop stops at Schlow Library at the corner of Beaver Avenue and Allen Street.

Driving to the Shandygaff:

Parking Options:

Let's start with parking. There are plenty of parking options near us. Of course, if you do drive, always drink responsibly and designate a sober driver. Or ask us to call a taxi for you.

  • On-Street Parking (Nearby):

There is metered street parking on both College and Beaver Avenues. There is also limited metered parking on Pugh St., Allen St, McAllister St, and Locust Ln. (Meters are free after 6 pm)

  • Parking Garages (Nearby):

The McAllister Parking Deck (on McAllister Street) is very close to the 'Gaff. Meters are enforced through 10 pm and you must park on the first level.

The Pugh Street Parking Garage is also just a few steps from us. Don't forget to bring your ticket though, as this is a "pay on foot" garage - meaning you will pay for parking at the garage before returning to your vehicle. This garage charges by the hour and is enforced 24 hours per day.

  • Other Parking Options (For "Event Weekends" like Football and Arts Fest):

There are several other parking options in downtown State College that require a slightly longer walk to the Shandygaff. These include two additional parking garages, several municipal parking lots, and street parking on more distant streets. During PSU Football Weekends and Arts Fest, these may be your best options for parking. For more information, check the Downtown State College parking information page.
